Weekly Educational Programs
Weekly Educational Programs
The Museum's weekly educational programs encourage learning through the use of materials, props, demonstrations, and group interaction. Unless otherwise specified, each program is free with regular paid admission. See the calendar for themes and details. Programs are subject to change without notice.

Please register at the Museum's Information Desk on the day of the program. Space is limited and participation is on a first come, first served basis.

The following programs are offered weekly at the Museum.

Tot Time (Ages 1 - 3)
Tuesdays and Thursdays at 10:30 a.m.
Toddlers will enjoy sing-alongs, finger-play, stories, and art experiences. Adults learn how these experiences impact early childhood development. Visit our Web site calendar for weekly Tot Time themes.

Puppet Play (Ages 3 and older)
Wednesdays and Saturdays at 11:30 a.m.
Children develop social skills by participating in interactive stories, songs and puppet shows. Adults learn how to use play to stimulate language development.

Open Art Studio (All ages are welcome)
Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 2 p.m. – 3 p.m. and Saturdays from 2 p.m. – 4 p.m. in the Artist's Studio.
Experiment with the process and fun of creating art! Try different art techniques using select mediums such as watercolors, pastels, clay, beads and more. Making a mess is part of the fun; please wear appropriate clothing.

Pre-School Pop-In (Ages 3 - 5)
Wednesdays and Fridays at 10:30 a.m.
Pre-schoolers participate in music, movement and visual art activities that encourage early reading and introduce beginning math concepts. Adults learn about age-appropriate activities that stimulate a child's development. Visit our Web site calendar for weekly Pre-School Pop-In themes.

Storytime (Ages 3 and older)
Wednesdays at 1 p.m.
Children develop language skills and a love of reading by helping to interpret stories through role-play and the use of colorful props.

Art Smart! (Ages 3 and older)
Fridays at 11:30 a.m.
Children learn about art and artists by experimenting with various art media, concepts and techniques as they engage in the process of creating art. This program has a $2 materials fee. Visit our Web site calendar for specific Art Smart! themes.

Betty's Broadway (Ages 4 and older)
Saturdays at 10:30 a.m.
Children rehearse and perform a short theatrical scene for parents and peers! Using costumes, props and scripts, children learn a variety of stage terms while developing creativity, imagination and literacy skills through performance.

FAMILY FLICKS! Enjoy entertaining and educational feature films, short films and other programming geared specifically for kids. These fun, age-appropriate family films are brought to the Museum through the KIDS FIRST! Film Club, a program of the Coalition for Quality Children's Media.
