Will my reservation be confirmed after I submit my request?
Not yet! A Museum representative will reach out to confirm your visit details. Dates are available on a first-come, first-served basis and preferred dates cannot be guaranteed.
When is payment due for our scheduled visit, and what forms of payment are accepted by the Museum?
Full payment and your completed, signed contract must be submitted to the Museum three weeks prior to your Field Trip. All payments are non-refundable. The Museum accepts credit cards and checks.
Is it possible to request a payment extension, and how can we do so?
Yes, you can request a payment extension by emailing education@bbcmkids.org. However, a request does not guarantee an extension will be granted.
What happens if our payment or signed contract is not received by the deadline?
To officially confirm your reservation, a signed contract and payment have to be submitted by the deadline in your confirmation. Reservations without a submitted signed Group Contract and or payment are subject to cancellation.
What happens if my group arrives without a reservation?
Groups arriving without a reservation will be charged based on the number of children in their group and will incur a $30 late reservation fee.
Can Museum memberships be used for admission as part of a group visit?
No, Museum memberships cannot be used for child or adult admission for Field Trips.
Are you able to accommodate groups with special needs?
Yes. Groups mainly comprised of people with disabilities and/or sensitivities are eligible for a free, Self-Guided Field Trip.
Where do buses park?
Buses may park along Wisconsin Avenue. Groups should enter through our north or east entrance
Does the Museum offer stipends for busses?
The Museum is continuously working to secure funding to subsidize free bus transportation for Field Trips with 70% or more of their students qualifying for free and or reduced lunches. If your school is eligible and funding is available during your booking, our team will notify you.
What is the group cancellation policy, and how can we apply our payment toward a future visit?
Groups canceling 21 days or more in advance may apply their full payment toward a future visit.
How can we cancel or reschedule our visit?
Please call 414-310-1150 or email education@bbcmkids.org as soon as you know you need to reschedule your reservation.
What is the required chaperone-to-child ratio?
The required ratio is one adult chaperone (18 years or older) for every five children. Required chaperones are admitted free, but additional adults are $13 each. Chaperones include teachers, teaching aids, parents or guardians. Please let us know if your group needs a 1:1 chaperone ratio.
Which Wisconsin Academic Standards do Be A Maker Field Trip Programs meet?
Our Be A Maker Field Trip programs meet a variety of Wisconsin Academic Standards, including those for Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Design, as well as NGSS and Wisconsin’s Model Early Learning Standards. Are groups allowed to eat lunch on-site, and what is the policy regarding the use of the Atrium for lunch?
Due to limited space, the Museum does not permit groups to eat or drink on-site, including in the café, exhibit areas, Atrium, and entrance. However, groups can use the Atrium for lunch with advance notice and will be charged a $50 cleaning fee. Groups are responsible for properly disposing of waste.
What should we do if our group is late for our scheduled visit, and will we receive additional time in the Museum?
Please contact the Museum at 414-390-5437 if your group will be late. The Museum will make every effort to accommodate late arrivals, but additional time cannot be guaranteed.
What health and safety protocols do chaperones and students need to follow during our visit to the Museum?
Guests must wear shoes while playing in the Museum, with socks preferred in the Hot Lava climber experience. Regular hand washing and the use of hand sanitizer, which is available throughout the Museum, are encouraged. All visitors must follow directions from Museum staff, and chaperones are responsible for ensuring that students in their group adhere to these policies.
