Impact
The Betty Brinn Children’s Museum’s (BBCM) Special Admissions Fund was established to ensure that no child is ever turned away due to the inability to pay for admission. The Fund supports programs such as:
- Museums for All: Provides discounted admission for families who receive FoodShare (SNAP) assistance. Learn more about this national initiative.
- Access Memberships: Provides discounted memberships to families who receive benefits through FoodShare (SNAP) and WIC programs. Learn more.
- Access Field Trips: Supports qualifying schools in planning free or reduced-price field trips and securing free bus transportation. Learn more.
- Community Access Day: Families are invited to the Museum on the third Thursday of each month at no cost, including extended hours. Learn more.
- Sensory Friendly Sessions: Special evening hours with fewer lights and quieter exhibit sounds to accommodate guests who benefit from a calmer, quieter Museum experience. Learn more.
- Wonder Wagon: BBCM’s mobile museum experience brings our hands-on activities and programming into surrounding communities to engage children and families who otherwise would not have access to Museum programming. Learn more.
In 2023, our Special Admissions Fund programs allowed us to welcome nearly 43,000 guests to the Museum at a free or discounted admission rate, accounting for 26% of our guests! Learn more about our impact in 2023.
