Artist-in-residence
We know that play is powerful, and when you add music, the magic multiplies! Music helps little learners build confidence, boost creativity, develop language skills and so much more. That’s why we’re thrilled to introduce our 2025 Artist-in-Residence, Malik Johnson!
We are deeply grateful to the generous private family donor whose support makes this residency possible. Because of their vision and investment, this program is offered at no additional cost to our visitors, bringing world-class artistry and inspiration directly to our community.
Malik's residency at the Museum started in April and went through August, during which he:
- Shared nearly 10 hours of live cello playing with Museum guests.
- Hosted four hours of Toddler Talkbacks alongside guest panelists.
- Led three social-emotional learning sessions with Betty Brinn Children's Museum members.
- Created a custom composition titled "Ready to Go (to Betty Brinn)!
