Drop in for daily tinkering in our Be A Maker space! Kids are encouraged to use their creativity to bring their own idea to life or grab a Blueprint and follow directions for a Maker project.

A weekly hands-on program that features a variety of materials guaranteed to make a mess!
October: Potion Painting
Get messy with science and art! Mix, paint, squeeze and pour different materials to create a fizzy chemical reaction and turn it into a one-of-a-kind potion painting. Experiment with colors, textures and reactions as you create your own bubbling masterpiece.

This STEAM program is a facilitated, monthly-rotating makerspace workshop.
October: Spooky Popping Creatures
Build, test and launch your own spooky creature! Design a creature cup and experiment with different ways to make it jump as high as possible. Kids will explore cause and effect while discovering how stored energy can turn into motion.
Studio Saturday with Arts@Large

Travel the world through art! Each week, a local artist leads a hands-on project inspired by different cultures and artistic styles. This program occurs weekly on Saturdays.
October 3-24: Mini Piñata
In this activity, children will explore Mexican culture by hands-on creating a colorful Mini Piñata. Using eco-friendly materials, they will decorate and personalize their own unique piñata.
October Artist: Ceci Tejeda
Ceci Tejeda was born and raised in Mexico City. Her parents are from Michoacán, Mexico, which is why she has Purepecha blood in her veins. Ever since she was a young girl, she’s admired her culture. She creates alebrijes using “Cartonería Mexicana,” a unique, traditional papier-mache technique from Mexico City. She also creates large-sized pieces that support various social justice movements and activism using the same method. Being part of events for her community and local artists around Milwaukee makes her realize that no matter where she is, she carries her roots with her everywhere she goes.

Our Field Trips and Group Visits are perfect for schools and organizations seeking hands-on, educational experiences.
We offer 90-minute Self-Guided Field Trips for schools, childcare centers and nonprofit groups of 10 or more. Groups may also choose to add a Field-Trip Program to their visit.

Wonder Wagon
Our Wonder Wagon brings hands-on activities and collaborative projects into the community. The Wonder Wagon is available to visit parks, community centers, schools, partner sites, special events and private functions.
