Our field trips and group visits are perfect for schools and organizations seeking hands-on, educational experiences.
Self-Guided Field Trips
Groups can explore the Museum at their own pace with our 90-minute Self-Guided Field Trips. This is a discounted admission rate for schools, childcare centers and nonprofit groups of 10 or more.
Group Admission:
$8 per child
Minimum of 10 students/$80
1 adult teacher/chaperone (18+ years) for every 5 children.
Your group may qualify for additional discounts, which will be reflected in your booking confirmation. Groups that qualify for additional discounts should indicate eligibility on the request form. View additional discounts in our FAQ.
Field Trip Program Add-Ons
Want to inspire young minds and nurture their curiosity even more? Add a Field Trip Program to your Museum visit!
Each add-on program engages students through age-appropriate materials and tools, interactive demonstrations, guided exploration and group discussion. Experiences are intentionally aligned with Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction curriculum standards, supporting foundational science, problem-solving and inquiry-based learning through play.
Programs run 30-45 minutes per rotation, depending on group size.

Matter Matters
1st-3rd Grade | +$5 per child
Explore the properties of materials and see how matter changes through hands-on investigation! Students will test and observe solids, liquids, and gases to understand how materials interact. Activities encourage observation, comparison and curiosity about the physical world.

Mini-Machines: Ramps
Early Childhood-1st Grade | +$5 per child
Build and experiment with ramp systems to explore how incline, surface and weight affect motion. Through hands-on testing, students will investigate the basic concepts of force through pushes and pulls while problem-solving and experimenting with ways to move objects more efficiently.

Mini-Machines: Pulleys and Levers
2nd-3rd Grade | +$5 per child
Build and test simple machines to learn how pulleys and levers make work easier! Students will explore how balance can affect movement, observe how force can change direction or strength, make predictions, test ideas, and refine their designs through guided exploration.

Habitat Architects
K5 - 3rd Grade | +$5 per child
Explore habitats and the basic needs of plants and animals. Through hands-on design challenges, students consider how living things depend on their environments and make choices about shelter, food, water, and space to create balanced habitats.

Our Five Senses
Early Childhood–K4 | +$5 per child
Discover how humans gather information through the five senses: sight, hearing, smell, taste and touch. Guided activities invite students to observe, describe and reflect on sensory experiences while making connections to how we explore our environment and stay safe.
